Welcome to a new mylifeinconcert.com subseries: SNAPSHOTS. These blog entries will be brief overviews of new shows I am currently seeing, providing just a “snapshot” of the gig rather than a full-length blog entry or a podcast.
As I have had to put mylifeinconcert.com largely on hold for a while, SNAPSHOTS will be interim, bite-sized recaps of recent gigs that I will be posting to get the ball rolling again.
Eventually, down the line, there will be proper blogs/podcasts for all the SNAPSHOT shows, but for now, they will act as placemarkers and keeps things current for y’all.
While there won’t be podcasts for the SNAPSHOTS entries, I might do some brief podcast compilation episodes in that regard or might incorporate them into series episodes.
Rest assured, mylifeinconcert.com will be fully returning. Spare time has joyfully re-entered my life as a “thing” as of late for me, but I don’t want to dwell on that and jinx things.
The next set of EPs—looking at my favourite London, Ontario shows along with Forest City gigs I wish I could have seen—have required more work than usual, and MLIC EPs are already enough work as it is. And with less time than ever to work on them. But I’m now about 80% of the way there.
There will also be some additional moving parts when they go live. I’m getting there and have some surprises in store for the full relaunch. So, stay tuned.
In the meantime, enjoy SNAPSHOTS. I’ll be starting by looking at my last four shows: The Gang of Four and The B-52s-Devo-Lene Lovich triple bill in Toronto, plus Kevin Kane and Tom Hooper from The Grapes of Wrath and Broken Social Scene here in London.
Shows coming up in my concert calendar include Mac DeMarco at Massey Hall and the reformed Sex Pistols with Frank Carter at History, both in Toronto, plus 54-40 and Sloan at the London Music Hall.
